Chapter One · The Cheeky One
Our cheeky little rescue boy.
Joey ran this house from day one, the best part of coming home. Then he was diagnosed with lupus - a chronic autoimmune disease that left his nose cracked and bleeding, and the skin around his eyes painfully inflamed.

Chapter Two · The Nights We Sat Up
We felt completely helpless.
We tried medications, vet visits and more advice than we could count, but our little mate kept getting worse. We felt heartbroken and completely helpless. If you have ever watched your dog struggle while you did everything right, you know that exact feeling.

Chapter Three · The Vet Who Knelt Down
Dr. Kate Millhouse asked different questions.
Then we found holistic veterinarian Dr Kate Millhouse. She introduced us to a broader approach that included fresh food, acupuncture, herbs, supplements, titre testing and traditional Chinese medicine.

Chapter Four · The Spark Comes Back
That's how Chefs & Dogs was born.
Joey taught us the power of asking more questions, finding the right professional support and treating every dog as an individual. His fresh-food diet was recommended by his veterinarian as part of a broader care plan created specifically for him, and it opened our eyes to a whole new way of caring for our dogs. Court is a dog trainer, groomer and lifelong dog lover. Dan is a chef who believes every dog deserves good-quality food made with fresh, nourishing ingredients. Together, we began sharing everything Joey taught us about fresh food and caring for the whole dog.
