It started with Joey.

A chef, a trainer and two dogs at one kitchen table. When Joey was diagnosed with lupus, his vet helped us rethink his whole routine, including what went in his bowl. It changed the way we looked at dog care forever. Joey taught us to ask better questions and treat every dog as an individual.

Read me like a book. Three questions, no pressure

How long before a diet change shows in the coat?
The answer
4-6 weeks. Coats change slowly: give any new food 4 to 6 weeks before you judge it, since a few days or a week is too soon to see a difference.

What usually causes soft-serve consistency?
The answer
Too much fat or organ. Fat and organ are both rich, and a bowl heavy in either loosens the poo, so soft-serve is the sign to ease back on them.

Which symptom requires an immediate vet visit?
The answer
Bloated hard abdomen. A bloated, hard tummy can't wait 48 hours, so that's a vet visit now. One soft poop or mild itching you can watch at home.
